Cadaver Mandible Lab Hands-On
Course Content:
This course is designed for doctors that wish to start surgically placing dental implants in their practice. You should already have a working knowledge of implant restorative concepts and treatment. Most dentists who take this course are general practitioners or specialists who have not placed implants before. We will cover all basic aspects dental implant surgery from initial diagnostics, records, treatment planning, guide stents, routine surgery, healing phase, general restorative concepts and long-term maintenance.
The emphasis of this course is showing the doctor how to identify routine implant surgery cases that can be performed predictably, safely and successfully in a general practice setting. Utilization of specialty referrals will be covered in terms of when, where and why. We will cover anatomy and physiology in some detail, as well as routine bone grafting socket sites and small defects encountered with basic implant surgery. You will place dental implants in a cadaver mandible to get a feel for human tissue response.
Objectives of this course include:
- Case selection of routine dental implant candidates
- Identification of risk factors
- Understanding the routine implant surgical procedure
- Operatory set-up/clean-up for the surgical assistant
- Basic bone grafting techniques and materials/ Site preparation
- Understanding related anatomy and physiology
- Identification and management of complications
The fee is $3600.00 and will cover everything including:
• Registration for doctor (and staff as required) for all 6 sessions

14 Hours of Implant Surgery CE credits (AGD & ADA/Cerp Approved)
Course Content: The course size is limited to 12 doctors, utilizing 6 cadaver heads, in order to facilitate learning on-site in the Pickle Prosthodontic Conference Center and allow flexibility to better match the group skills and needs. The course is a two day program with Friday being primarily devoted to lecture and model specimen hands-on. Saturday will be the cadaver lab where two doctors will share a cadaver head and practice all of the skills presented from Friday.
Objectives of the course will include:
- incision and suturing techniques
- various socket bone grafts
- implant site preservation and augmentation
- use of membranes
- sinus lifts
- video surgeries

In case of cancellation by registrant, refunds will be made if received NO LATER than four weeks prior to start of course date. There will be no refunds given within four weeks of the course date. A $75 processing fee is charged on refunds. In the rare event that attendance is insufficient, participants will be notified of cancellation or reschedule one month prior to course date and a full refund will be given. In such circumstance, organizers will not be held liable for any expenses already incurred by any participant.
